Petit Luna Signet Ring
The Petit Luna Signet Ring is our third offering in the Petit Signet series. These signet rings are smaller than our usual signet rings and features a recess in the shape of a diamond with a crescent waning moon motif. The silver moon emerges from the darkened recess, giving a stark contrast.
The waning crescent is seen when the moon decreases in its illumination, and is often associated with endings, transitions, and the process of letting go. It symbolizes the completion of a cycle or phase, and encourages individuals to release what no longer serves them, whether it be negative emotions, habits, or situations.
While the waning crescent marks the end of the lunar cycle, it also leads you into the beginning of a new cycle -- renewal and rebirth, and a space to grow and transform.
The word signet originated from the Latin word "signum" meaning "sign" or "mark". Signet rings were historically worn to symbolize authority and power, as well as used on sealing wax to leave the wearer's identifying mark. These rings were incredibly personal to the wearer, and would often be destroyed once the owner has passed as to not allow others to use the same.
Over time, our rings will accumulate scratches, scars, memories. Each of these perfect imperfections marks a special incident in your life's timeline, a timestamp of sorts. These scars may darken over time, adding to the raw beauty and uniqueness to your piece.
